Don't discount the Mach 1 though....they are runners. With a good driver they will run mid-13s. With some gears, exhaust, and drag radials they'll do 12s.

i think you need a good, nay, GREAT tune.

with your set up, you should be able to kill any mach, even well modded ones. in my experience, there not all that fast, high 13's.

Not all that fast??High 13s? I have a stock 03 Mach 1 and NO modifications what so ever, at the track it ran 13.20, and that is with bald tires!

No lie dude, to me that's not bad!

+1 Vote for a turbonator.

Seriously, get a tune, clean your MAF, change the sparkplugs, run him again, (practice your shifts) and let us know what the results are. I'm sure you'll have a different story

While I agree, Mach 1s are no slouch.....I absolutely MURDER then at the track with my stock engine Vortech GT. Something is not right with your car.

That's because you have other mods. I was referring to "just" a Vortech put on the car. Oink had a couple other power mods and ran low 13's by just putting it on.

(what's 100hp forced induction worth on a stock car timwise?)
So yes, 13.0 or so for just a "slap on" Vortech without the other goodies

He also said this was at the Orlando speed world track which is crap also called "Orlando spin world". It has the rep of being a slow track which is hardly ever prepped right. All my buddies that live in Central, Fl head over to the Bradenton track and they love it. I think I remember Oink saying he went to Moroso and broke into the 12's with no other changes.

Im SURE it was low 13s.
I think the FIRST time he slapped it on and ran, it was in the area of 13.2-13.4. EITHER WAY, 306 with Vortech .... something's missing, unless the Mach had F.I too!

They can run low 13's stock and trap as high as 106-107mph from what I have seen.

I ran an 11.1 with one my first time driving it at a local 1000ft. track. The "faster" stock ls1's get that. Average is 11.2-11.3's. This is not a quarter mile track.

Your admission that the car feels down on power past 3800 rpm tell you that your car is not running. Get it tuned with different plugs; have it dynoed and when you happy with the results go back and spank him like you should.

It shouldn't even be a race with your car in good tune. Plugs with the proper gapping would be first on my list though...and a dyno tune is money well spent
