They have their own dimmer right?

All you need is a hot wire and a ground. Black gets grounded the red connects to a wire that comes on with the interior lights.

I tapped into one of the wires for the dimmer switch? You have an '88 right? I could prob tell you what wire to use if i can find my 1988 wiring diagram manual

ya its a 88. and it has a little selector almost like an on/off....on the site it said either a blue or green back light color so maybe that's the selector..

that's what i thought, power and a ground...is it ok if i just ground it to the metal frame for the dash?

if you could id really appericate it...ill look and see i can find anything

Those look really really good, got a link to some info on them? I'll be waiting to see pics of yours installed to push me over the edge on buying them. One of my next projects was going to be getting my gauges lit up better and this will be the best way to go. Driving the truck with the backlit gauges has killed me on the stock look of the fox gauges at night.
