I swapped out my nasty Spintechs (man those things sounded horrible) for a set of Dynomax race magnums. The bullet type. I like the new sound. Its deeper and has more of a throaty exhaust note. I got tired of the Spintechs popping and kackling (is that a word?) like glasspacks form the 80's on deceleration.

Wow your the only person I've heard that had a bad thing to say about Spintechs. Are the race magnums the like 4-5" round ones right?

I'm thinking about getting the bullets too. All i've heard are good things. How much did you buy them for and how much was the install?

I believe they are the Pro street version---not sure they came on the car. I like the sound while at WOT but man part throttle and deceleration they sounded like old glasspacks. I love the new bullet Dynomax's. PM if you want the spintechs i will get rid of them cheap.

my prostreets have never crackled or popped at all. Interesting. Maybe it was your x pipe that was matched up to them creating the noise problems. I have a prochamber and it is insane. I have never heard the race bullets, how loud are they

I have a VRS X-pipe. The Bullets are rather loud at WOT i dont mind that but they do not crack like the Spintechs so maybe they match the X-pipe better?? Dunno. I'm happy with my exhaust note now.

Hey Deths, do you have a pic of the new exhaust setup and are you running tailpipes or turndowns?

if your x-pipe is catless... you will get the popping almost glass pack sound... I have a flowmaster 2 chmbr catback now.. but am ordering magnaflows tomorrow... if that doesn't sound better... I am putting the bassani cats on to see if that tones it down a bit... I love the x-pipe sound... but can't stand the popping crackling sound... as you put it

You probably would have been happier with Spintech Sportsmans. Not quite as loud as the Pro Streets but from what I hear, a more refined sound. I've heard a lot of clips of 5.0's with Spintechs and don't remember popping and crackling, though. Weird. I think they sound neat because there really isn't another muffler that I've heard that sounds like them.

If it eases your mind any, I just went from weld-in 2 chamber Flows to the stainless Magnaflow catback and I'm VERY happy with the results. The main thing I like is NO MORE DRONE! Plus, they don't pop or crack AT ALL and are quieter at idle yet really mean at WOT. I got a compliment on the sound a few days ago from a guy in a Porsche.

No sound clip. Sorry I wish I did but the sound with the prochamber is insane. If you are on the gas going by people the noise these things make is sick. And it is a great sound too. I love the way they sound and am completely happy with them. If you are unsure I would get them and thank god you did. Word of advise though, paint them with some hi temp paint, that aluminum finish wouldnt' last too long as I see it. Best of luck, by the way, my car doesn't sound like any of the clips on mustangexhaust.com either.
