hey yall just got back from vegas. I went down there to get a dyno tune by silverstate motorsports. The dude was really cool. I started out with 255hp and tq at 303 and really lean up top. After some adjustments on my second pull it was 338 and tq 355. we messed around with the fuel i was having problems with it leaning out at 5000rpm. so after some diagnoistics we figured out the problem was too small of a fuel pump i had a 155 in and needed more fuel, those were the highest numbers being that it flatlined a 5k starving for fuel. i went to the track and on a bad light and 60ft i ran a 13.6 at 102mph. i just put a 255 in so maybe it will improve.

Am I not seeing something? Your main power mods are an intake manifold, tb, mass air and pulleys and you think you have 338rwhp? Where is this dyno? I'd love to belt out 550rwhp with my little streeter. If theres other stuff you have then list it up..

You picked up 80+rwhp and 50rwtq with some tweaks ?Based on your sig and your mph in the quarter that doesnt add up..Sounds like the dyno guys was screwing with the dyno.

yeah somethings not right there... with your mods in your sig, i think 255 rwhp is high to start. i'd guess maybe 230ish to the tires. to really gain 80 rwhp you definately would need more than just a dyno tune.... its not adding up! what did the guy charge?

got r done dyno? i think you got did! are you walking with a limp now?

Wow...just wow...this story just wreaks of garbage. I have seen some nice gains from being well off on the A/F but your tuner sounds like he should be turning water to wine instead of his current profession with the numbers he's made out of your set up. By the way....even the stock pump could handle your mod list and then some without any significant issues.

I hate to say it, but I think that tuner it taking you for a ride. We have a tuner in our area that has done the same thing to more than one person. You can confirm this by strapping your car to a different Dyno. Most dynos are within 10 - 15 % of each other. I bet you will see a much larger difference. If you've been had buy the tuner, get the word out!

did you get dyno sheets? if so, i'd go to a different tuner, get some real sheets, then sue this dude!!!

i'm honestly picturing some dude with a stick, stabbed through a couple costco sized cans of beans, guessing how fast they're turning to give you your numbers! not kidding, i'm giggling as i'm typing!

So these numbers were with TrickFlow intake, Cam, bolt-ons and a Powerdyne @ 10psi?

Those are some nice numbers if thats the real deal, you should be trapping higher in the 1/4 though!

embarrassing

yea when we first got started it was way lean. I had raced it before we went up and it seemed doggy about 5k and my boost was only hitting 4lbs so i figured i had a 6lb charger. Any ways he played with it for a while wondering why it was falling on its face around 5k.
finally we came to the conclusion it was the pump. we put a fuel gauge on the shrader and the fuel would spike to 50psi then die so he said the fmu was working ok. I got back put the 255 in and the fuel now spikes to 60psi. The car feels awesome. So now i am going to a local chassis dyno get it dynoed compare #'s and send the sheets back to the tuner with the chip so he can make changes if he has to, being that he tuned it to the 155 pump. But heck i raced it at the track in vegas the same night and it was a full tree my rt was like .070 or something close to a sec, my 60 was like 2.4. That was where i lost it.

I had a PD super charger making 6lbs of boost on a stock long block.I was just a tick over 300rwhp. My best 1/8 was 8.14 at 87mph with a 1.82 60ft. My best 1/4 was 13.01 at 109 with a 2.06 60ft. when my car was NA I was running 13.50's at 102 with a stock long block, in a full weight 91 vert. If those power numbers are accurate your MPH is way low. ET is relative to hook and driving ability, but MPH is what the cars potential is. Its funny how the chager and other parts werent in your original post.

I think that totally you should be higher than that, I have the slips and trapped 13.6 at 105 with my bolt-ons frying the tires in first and second. So you should totally have something higher or I'm running around the same or more horse than you with just power adders, my soon to have turbo setup is gonna be crazy!!!

well i only had once pass the tuner told me not to race it until i put the new pump in. I had to shift it just before 5k so it might have been 4800 just before the yellow. I thought it was a good 1/4 considering what i had to work with.
i didn't have it in my original sig because i hadn't used the forums for a long time but i will update my profile.
I was with the tuner the entire time cause the thought that he was stiffing me crossed my mind for a sec but the guy was cool and open and explained to me what he was doing. it is funny how people tend to assume that everyone it gullable. I did my research before and now i'm doing it again to see what others have. i realize it's my fault for not putting the proper input in my forum.

Get the tune safe and start practicing at the track. As said above.....your times are going to depend on how good of a 60' you can cut, but your mph's should be any where from 105-110 i would think (depending on tires, gears and tranny combo).

Again, nice numbers!

If you were running THAT lean on boost, I'm suprised that your motor is still together.

One other side note:

I've mentioned this before but Walbro in-tank pumps of the 155/190 liter variety, internally by-pass at 55-60 psi. DO NOT use these pumps in an FMU application.
