I have a 3" cowl and with the downs upper it is very tight in the back. I am running Hooker headers.(shorty) and a Borla catback system. If you didnt notice that the intake is a little wider you would never know that it was not a 5.0L in there. It looks almost factory except for the intake

Which edelbrock heads do you have?

If you are looking for power up top, my guess is the cam or head selection. Your A/F ratio is pretty good for a NA car. Very constant. But my guess is the heads don't flow enough. The torque curve falls pretty fast after 4500 rpm's. If it was much flatter, you would see the 400 rwhp mark no doubt.

What octane gas are you running? Maybe running 91 will cure your pinging problems.

I just have the performer 1.90's.I am running 94 octane now. and still get pinging.I think there is too much inital set in the chip along with the 18:1 A/F until I hit 2200rpm.If I run without the chip I can run 12 to 14 initial with no pinging, but only about 8 with the chip and still get light load pinging. I am guessing my compression is up there pretty high.I have flat tops with 2 valve reliefs and the piston tops are almost comming out the top of block at TDC. thought about a custom cam but will have to wait till next year.Might try a Tweecer though.

you gotta love that torque... it hits strong right away and just hangs up there. Not to mention your smog legal.. I really think your numbers are good now... You taken it to the track? you should have an 11 sec car if you can get traction...

You go to quaker??? I run at Keystone/Pittsburgh Raceway Park. Most of my buddies run at Quaker too. I've never been there but they always want me to come up and run there, maybe I will sometime this summer, we could meet up.

I gotta see a picture of the 351 under the hood. Everytime I see a new person with one I wanna see how it fits.
