from a 97 (I think 97) Exploder for a decent price. I am going to strip them down and do a 3 angle valve job, upgrade the springs and keepers, maby clean the ports up a bit.

They should complement my GT40 tubular intake nice I think. I will be installing some parts this spring.
my parts list for spring
GT40 heads
GT40 upper and lower intake
70mm Edelbrock TB
70mm FRPP egr spacer
behind bars fuel rails
new TPS
new IAC
hopefully some 1.6 or 1.7 RR's
3G alt
plan on having a e fan from a taurus
UPR 3hook quadrant and F/W adjuster
9mm Ford racing plug wires

other misc parts to install that are just for function and looks
Black netted halo headrests
ford racing STB
SS rad cover
96 mustang seats
Russell stainless brake hoses

what I have installed since I bought the car
BBK shorty headers
welded in some SFC's
MGW shifter with my choice of red, blue, orange handles
MSD cap and rotor
autolite 25's

when I have every thing installed what would your guesses on power be..and any guesses on some times...I know it's hard to guess that but that combo should work a bit better than stock I would hope.

Roland, are you sure the heads are GT40 and not the GT40P models? You did state you weren't sure what year Explorer the heads were from. If so, you might have problems with header fitament if the turn out to be "P" heads.

all you have to do is take the vc's off (which they should be) and it will say either gt (gt40) or gt40p

I could probly close my eyes and feel the 40's and the 40P heads and tell you what one is a P head or a GT40 head..
