Hey Guys,

What a busy weekend I had last weekend! Not only did I ask my girlfriend to marry me but I was able to squeeze in getting some tires on the Magnum 500's that we bought for her 66. It definitely changed the look of the car! I think that it looks tough and mean. I went with a 215/60/14 in the front and a 235/60/14 in the rear. The wheels are 14X7. I did go with the raised white letter. It makes the car look much racier! I am going to have to massage the front fender lips a little because there is a smidge of rubbing going on. Nothing that I can't handle though.

Thanks to everyone for your responses on my steel wheel question that I posted a couple of weeks ago. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am not out of my mind. I knew that the magnums would look great. My dad and I had a 65 in the past with them on it. I also know bigger wheels will look better and they will come as money allows. We had the 14x7 magnums and tires for them were relatively cheap. My point was that before the wheel swap her car looked like it was fresh out of the 1966 dealer brochure. Now it looks like it has been mildly modified. My fiance is still out on her decision. She really liked the look with the original 66 caps but she LOVES the way it drives and handles now. She is just not sure if the magnums are "too flashy". I just about passed out when I saw it and I told her that they must stay. She does agree now that silver blue will be a much better color than the red/orange color on it now. It is not an original red car so I am not concerned with a color change. I will post some pics as soon as I get them (this weekend).

Can't wait to dive into the next project. These things are a blast to work on! Hope that everyone has a great day!

Bryan

CONGRATS!!
I guess since you called her your "fiance" that she said yes.
By the way congrats on the tires/wheels also.
Yes these cars are a blast to work on.
Good luck!

it sounds like your girl is afraid to be flashy, or anything that could even be remotely considered flashy. That will come in handy when buying a wedding ring!

jeez, can't the guy have a little privacy without you asking for pictures of his wife-to-be?

ah, a fiance with a Mustang who responds well to your hobby/habit. My girlfriend doesn't really appreciate it but she humors me. Now if she had a '66 . . .

Actually, she is really cool about purchasing items for the car. The best part is that she pays for them. As far as not being flashy...she is understated flashy. It took three months for me to find the ring because we both wanted it to be a vintage set. I did eventually find what I wanted though and she was beside herself! Everyone that sees it is just mezmerized because you don't see jewelry like that any more. Nasa GT...did you want pics of the car, my fiance, the ring, or all three? I am going to try to get some pics posted tonight or tomorrow.
