I have the ford drive shaft and many of the same parts you do including 3.73s, and 245/45/17 tires. No vibrations, daily driver, 105 mph trap (so far) in 4th gear @ about 5800rpm. At highway speeds RPMS are ok in 5th gear (over drive), 3000 RPMs @ about 60 -65 mph this is much the same as cars used to run back in the day of 3 speed autos. Won't hurt anything except maybe your gas mileage.

Then you have a steeper gear then you think...or a speedo/tach that is highly inacurate.

With 3.73's, 5th gear at 3000 rpms put you right around 85mph.

Also, fourth gear @ 5800 rpms puts you right around 113mph.

What? dgollem,you cruise about 60-65 mph at 3000rpm in overdrive?
I got a C4/3.73's and am only 200rpm's or so higher at 60-65.
Oh and as for a aluminum drive shaft I highly recogmend it.It also inproves acc. with out losing mph and is less stress on you car.

I've had that same problem. I get alot of vibration at high speeds. Sometimes tha shifter will vibrate so much it will almost hurt my hand! haha I need to do something bout that, prolly change my driveshaft. Having an aftermarket shifter doesn't really help with the vibration part...

I stand corrected, millhouse your numbers are much better than mine were. Getting old and the memory ain't what it used to be. Just went for a spin, turning about 3000 rpm@65 in 4th gear drops to around 2000 rpm in 5th. One day I'll take a GPS along and get the exact MPG@RPM, The tach is fine but the speedo was not corrected for the gears. Gotta love overdrive!

to make a long story short, China is in the middle of their industrial revolution, and they are sucking every spare piece of metal the world has to offer, and the prices have skyrocketed.
