got your candles and flashlights out?

Well, we lost power here before I saw your post. about 8:00pm. Didn't come back on until noon today. Funny how losing electricity for an evening and morning makes you appreciate it. Boy do I take it for granted. We lost several trees in the neighborhood, but none of mine fell. Just a few big branches and a boat-load of small ones. Got lucky.

the fire department ran 22 calls yesterday. MOstly car accidents and power lines down. Thier average runs per day is 10.

We lost power at the hospital twice. The generator kicked on after a second though. We actually had some people call who said they just moved from southern california, and wanted to know if there would be shelters for people to go if the power went out. I wanted to refer them to the eugene mission, but I didnt get to take the call. :D

we just got power back, it was gone for about 3 days..i live in grays harbor and we were actually trapped for a day or so, no roads in or out..i'm glad the lights work though, we were the only one in the neighborhood with a generator lol

As much as some people got hammered, we didn't really get much to write home about where I live (Hillsboro). A bit windy and a lot of rain, but no more impressive than what we get at least once every year. The only thing I noticed is that when I got home Monday evening my yard had been nicely swept clean of all the leaves :rlaugh:. Oh, and the power did go out for about 30 seconds late Sunday night. Nothing my UPS's don't handle just fine :D.

I really need to get a generator. So far I have been lucky and the city gets the power back on within a few hours. The longest so far has been ten hours without power. What does suck is that the only source of heat in the house is electric.
