Just curious to see if anyone has taken their GRE's for graduate school? I just ordered a couple of books to study for the test(Kaplan, Princeton Review and Barrons). Also plan on using Powerprep from the ETS website. I don't know if i'm going to take a prep course because they run ~$1000 and its hard to find time when I'm working ~60 hrs a week.

I really didn't plan to go to graduate school but after graduating and being out in the real world for awhile. Im not to impressed with the jobs available, lack of $$, and my lack of satisfaction with my job and career path.

I actually went to school for Crim(not in this field now) but now i'm thinking of becoming a veterinary. I know it is very competetive and hard but I love animals and I really want to do something that I enjoy doing.

I plan on taking the GRE's first to see if I can even compete to get into a VET school(only 27 in the country). If all goes well I'll then attend a school to get the necessary undergrad classes I missed, basically all the sciences.

I can't be of any help with the GRE question, I just have one out of curiosity. Does veterninary school use the GRE, or do they have something similar to the MCAT? If it's like the MCAT, I feel for you. The sheer amount of knowledge you need for that test alone would be enough to make me not want to go to medical school.

My girlfriend just got a letter to be interviewed for acceptance into large animal vet school. She studied her ass off for the GRE and did decent. She's pretty smart girl (graduated with magna cum laude) and she said that the GRE was crap. She tells me that you needed to have a good range of vocabulary to do well on it. Needless to say, I will not be putting effort to go to graduate school. I'd look and see what school(s) you want to apply for and talk with someone and see about the requirements. I know my grilfriend (who has graduated) is still having a few more classes to take to be able to start vet school. I know I couldn't do that route in school. Just the thought of working so damn hard towards something and having a possibility of it all not paying off to reach a goal, I just couldn't bring my self to it. Guess thats why I'm a plant and soil science major. lol
