I'm not sure why I'm resurrecting this old thread of mine, but I've gone and done it so no turning back, right?
Peachy. I get to smog the car again this month. What's that you say? I smogged the car last year and California only requires a smog check every second year? Reality check for those that don't live here: the car has to be smogged not only anytime it changes ownership(what I was bitching about roughly a year ago), but also at the regular smog check schedule which never changes. That means I have to smog it again this time around because it is due to be smogged for the normal registration process. "Test Only" also(the tech can only run the test, not make smog repairs). The DMV will tell you that "Test Only" is completely random, but that is completely crap. Just about any vehicle older than 12 years is branded "Test Only" status.
Anyway, I need to change the valve seals this time around before I try any testing. Bleh.
