Green O/D Off Light Blinking on 02 Mustang GT

Hey everyone. I am new to the forum and introduced myself in the intro section. So I picked up a 02 Mustang GT 3 days ago. Yesterday morning after 5-6 miles driving from home, I noticed the green O/D Off light blinking. Drove another 10 miles to my destination with no problems with shifting. I turned the car off and started it again, light not blinking. Car sat 2 hours and drove him with no light coming on. Went out last night with no problems. Tonight it started flashing again 5-6 miles from home and arrived at my destination with no shifting problems. Left destination to go home and light was not blinking till after 10 miles. I know the seller said he put a B&M shift kit in it. Would this mod trigger that light to blink? I know the owners manual says it means the trans needs to be inspected. Any help would be great!!!! A flashing O/D light means that there is something wrong with the tranny (obviously). It could be something as minor as low tranny fluid or something catastrophic. A blinking O/D light is going to throw a code, so read the trouble code to see exactly what it is.

BTW, a shift kit will not cause a blinking O/D light. IMO the previous owner beat the living hell out of hit and most likely damaged the tranny.

Thanks for your help! I will check the trans fluid. Hoping this is the problem. If not I will take it in to the shop. BTW The previous owner was a cop and used it as his personal police vehicle. So makes sense that he stomped the living daylights out of it to go after bad guys!!

My F350's started flashing after I did a tranny cooler install. One of the hoses came off and dumped 5quarts of tranny fluid out before I got it pulled over. Could definitely be low fluid.

Low fluid is a def possiblity. When I did my PI engine swap in my 96' I was about a qrt. low after I refilled it and it blinked on me before I even got it out of the driveway to test drive. I toped it off and no trouble since. Poor thing has over 170k on it.

Drove it yesterday 20 miles from home so far so good. Drove home no light. Drove to work early this morning after 10 miles on freeway starts blinking. Drove home 30 miles in late afternoon in heavy traffic on freeway light not blinking. So what do you guys think?
