Whenever I pull into a parking space (left turn) I hear a grinding/grating/rubbing sound coming from the driver's side rear. I've slapped the exhaust pipes but they don't budge. Any ideas what it could be? Possibly driveline? I can only hear it when pulling into a space, not when just turning left.

Thanks.

I tried to duplicate it today in an open parking lot and couldn't do it. Have no idea what it is.

Hi, maybe I ccan help. I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. I noticed you have 2 cars listed. Is this happening on the 99 or the 03? I have a 03 and heard the same noise. I checked the exhaust, axle, wheel, everything I could think of. Finally took the car to the dealership, they explained it was my aftermarket exhaust. I said BS. Took it to another dealership, the service manager called me back that day and said that my differiental clutches were worn out. They fixed it under warranty. When I picked up the car, I asked the service manager if there was a recall or something and he said no but he has seen at least 6 other 03's come in with the same problem. Hope this helps.

It's on the 03. Sounds good. Since I don't have an aftermarket anything I'll be good to go. Guess I should just explain it the sound to them and tell them about the differential clutches or just let them figure it out?

Yeah just take the car back to the dealership and tell them about the grinding, rubbing, and grating noise on turns. For me the sound would come and go. Then all of sudden, it just stayed and got louder. Now everything is all good. No noise.

My '03 had 11K on it when the Traction Lock went; same symptoms as yours and ultimately was a problem with clutches. This was on a car that never did a single burnout, much less roasted the tires off a traffic light. Maybe that was the problem!

I'd had gears done already, so no warranty, but just had the unit swapped for a low mileage used one, and I'm back in business.

I'm probably gonna take it in tomorrow. I hate that's not a for-sure thing though as to when it does it.
