I noticed today my car seems to be grinding going into 2nd at high RPM's and also when the engine is cold. After it warms up it seems fine until I get past 4k RPM's. It does not grind in any other gear. The car has about 58k miles on it. Do you guys think a fluid change would help the problem?

A fluid change might help but it's doubtful unless the wrong fluid is in there now. It may turn out you've got a synchronizer on the way out.

BTW, it's not generally a good idea to rev the piss out of the engine or race when it's cold

I dont rev the engine cold, nor do I drive it hard cold...hell I hardly go over 3k RPM's as it is.

Sorry...must've mis-read your post. I thought it said "...going into 2nd at high RPM's when the engine is cold..."
