Have finally decided to get a gt-40 intake after reading the dyno comparisons in the recent 5.0 mustang mag. Like everyone i want a 347 but i don't want to have to buy two intakes. They mentioned earlier that there are a lot of parts to get and put together. Ran a search and came up with nothing. What is needed for the install and how does it compare to any other intake install?

Why would you need to buy 2 intakes with a 347? It's just a stroked 302,

Your going to have to do some major porting to feed a 347 with a gt40 intake. Your best bet is to wait until you build your motor than buy the right intake. The only other way to buy 2 in 1 is buy buying the edelbrock performaer now (great gian for a mostly stock) then later just buy the edelbrock upper plenum RPM II but you still may need to port the lower to gain the full benifits. Good luck

Came home last night to a brand new cobra intake on my door step . I've been waiting for ever! Open up the box and Can't wait to pet her on!

Anyways, I went with the cobra because of it's good looks and the good deal I got, the mainly because of it's versitility:

Stock bottom end: Cobra intake works
Aftermarket heads: Cobra intake works
N/A stroker: Ported Cobra intake works

I just want ot buy one intake for my 302 now and for later plans of a 347. Do you need to buy the 94-95 cobra inatke or will the 86-93 work with the inlet adapter? Cause i've seen good deals for the 93 cobra intake.

the older cobra will work with adapter or if your gonna upgrade your TB at the same tiem you can switch over to a fox style setup for a cleaner look

After seeing the difference between the cobra and the trickflow track heat there is very little comparison. Although the track heat may be to big for stock heads and stuff, there is no way I would put a cobra on a stroker with or without H/C/I.

If it were me, i'd get a trick flow street now, and you can upgrade the upper intake to the track heat since the lowers are the same. Correct me if i'm wrong guys.
