I just bought a set of gt-40 irons from Randy (thanks randy they just got here and look good) I was wondering how much horsepower would you all guess I would gain from installing these heads with the stock cam?? I would say they are mildly to mediumly (spelling lol) ported..my other mods and dyno numbers are in the sig...can I get 25-30 rwhp? I am just starting college and it will be a lot longer wait time to save up for the cam and install and I am not sure I want a cam anyway it being a dd...I mean it could be 6 months wait if I want to get a cam whereas without the cam I could prolly install next month...so just wondering can I get 25-30 rwhp from the heads on stock cam? that would put me at 265-270 which I would certainly be pleased with...

Brian, I'm not sure on the horsepower gain, but you'll definitely want a cam for the dd. I run a B cam in my daily driver and have no issues with driveability. As long as you don't get too radical with the cam you'll be happy. I recommend the TFS stage 1, it makes great power and is pretty driveable.

E-303

I'd recommend an e-303. It's not as rough as a b-cam, it's emissions legal, and it works well with a power adder. I know there are way better cams to buy, but for an "out of the box" cam, e-303 is the way to go. I hit 12.7's N/A with an e cam and gt40p's, and a stout bottom end. The cam made my car run what it did basically. :nice:

You already have the intake and exhaust, my guess would be 25 anyway...
I got 25 from my Thumpers with stock cam/Tmoss ported lower...
If you dont wanna get into the cam...then dont....you may or may not get gremlims....odds are you'll get some nasty little habit.... :D
Bet you'll be quite surprised how those heads will work just as it sits...

the only thing is as I said I get a bonus next month which I could use towards rockers, gaskets, bolts and install of the heads...but if I get a cam I have to add an extra 150 or so for the cam and 200 for the tune so I would have to wait an additional two or three months to do anything...on a tight budget starting college and all...not to mention my clutch is on it's last 10k miles...maybe less
