Im building a 306 and have gt-40p heads. Im taking the heads to the machine shop to have them gone through but i want to have them milled to get a little more power from them. How much can i get milled off without having piston to valve clearance problems? I will either be using the stock speed density cam or an e-303 cam. Any help is greatly appriciated.

You might have problems with speed density an the E cam...I've talked to one guy who has one in a 5 sp an says its ok, just a stumbling idle...Every one says you should always check p-t-v clearance cuz every motor is different but I would guess you'd be ok taking 30 thousands off.

I have a E303 cam, with stock heads, I sometimes have problems with idling, especially after downshifting, the car even dies sometimes, what is the cause of that? I am looking to getting some twisted Wedge heads? anybody have any pointers?

if it's speed density, that'd be your problem right there
