GT door removal and aligning

How do you remove the doors on a 88GT? My door is kinda off line and it seems as if it needs a bushing or something. Because I can lift my door a bit when closing and it closes easily. If I do not lift it, it closes rather hard and you have to slam it.

You need new bushings in the hinge. Look on 5.0 Resto for them (i'm pretty sure most parts stores carry some too but i don't know if they're the same or not.)

Don't wait for 50resto, that'll be days before you get them and 14.95 for shipping them.

Murrays...pins and bushings were 4.99 each. They have the application on the back, and they fit great. My doors are tight, and I got them just by driving down the street.

NAPA, Autozone and Others have them as well. They are in the HELP section of most stores...

but how do you remove the door? Seems like it is a 2 person job.

I've never taken a door off just by the bushings...i don't recall if they drill out or what since i usually just take the whole door off by the hinge where it bolts to the car. I'm pretty sure they drill out or have a pin you pull out and slide the shafts out and it'll come off. You'll probably need some help since doing the pins and holding the door is gonna be near impossible.

U have to remove the front fender and there are three bolts on each door. u can remove it with a socket and rachet.
