Hey... I have an 87 LX and picked up a GT front bumper and extention pieces that go in front of the front wheels.

Would it look dumb to ONLY install these front pieces (and not the side skirts and rear bumper)? Obviously it wouldn't look like a full-out GT but I'm fine with that. I'm more just wondering if the GT front and LX middle/rear lines would work together.

THANKS!

Most are gonna say no and flame you....i kinda like it. Better would be just a Saleen front valance on your LX nose, but the GT doesn't look bad IMO, but then again that's pretty much what i've got on mine, only in an older version. A lot of road race guys run it this way to drop the nose down for better aerodynamics.

Here's John Lindsey's AIX car...

And here's an '82 GT

Looks like an aero nose version of an '82 GT to me. The key is to run at least 17'' rims....you can't pull off the GT nose with little rims. The Ponys don't look bad (that's what i have on mine right now) but 17s look much much better.

Also i should probably note that John's car has the fenders flaired out a LOT and the nose is actually spread open on the ends, which makes the nose look even bigger than it really is. In reality it's nearly identical in size as the '82GT nose.

That's also the Griggs "Old Blue" coupe behind John's car...that car is NASTY on the track (it also has the GT nose on it).

I'd go for it. Nothing you do could look anymore ridiculous than the guy who has the wing sticking up a foot above his GT with the LX spoiler. Besides the SVO's have a front airdam without side or rear ground affects.

ive been thinking of it for my vert! ive also though of going full GT but my fear is id rip the bumpers off on my drive way, its a severe angle to get up off the ease ment.

when i asked i got my ass flamed...the GT look on a vert has started to grow on me is why ive been thinking about doing it!....

i may do it not sure yet.

Yeah but remember the flame throwers are always on high alert around here...don't let that sway you either way. It's your car dude, make it how you want it

i think it looks good on the four-eyed fox's, but not so much on the aero-nose. The aero-GT flares out at the bottom, and the doors curve under so it looks really out of place. Just my opinion though.

While I do like the look of an LX with a Saleen front airdam on it, I do NOT like LXs with GT bumpers. I'm talking aero noses, not foureyes. 85_SS_302_Coupe's coupe looks evil.

I even thought about making an SVO convertable one of these days if I ever finished some of my other projects.

I don't have a problem with SVO's, in fact, they're pretty cool. I just don't see a front airdam on it. so, yeah... --->

If it is put to use, what the hell does it matter what it looks like. He gets around the track faster.

I agree. It makes the 4eyes look meaner.

I agree with 85_SS_302_Coupe, it's your car man. If you like it, do it.

If it's cool it makes your car more desirable, if it's not, it makes ours more desirable. Either way, someone always wins.

As for the pics above, I think I would like it better on the white one if the fenders werent flared. It looks like they're almost 2 inches out. I'm also not sure which grill that is on the white car, but I like the floating oval.
