gt fuel sending unit cobra hat?

hey guys i was wondering if a i can use my gt sending unit on a cobra hat since im putting it in my stock tank?

There was a thread about this before. Somebody had problems with a regular GT sender/tank with an 03-04 Cobra motor. Something about the baffles in there were making the car run out of gas.
