I can get all of the parts I need for $260 with my discount at the local dealership.

Anyone have the Mach1 springs/struts/shocks on there GT?

I would imagine with my sway bars it would be awesome.

I have the bullitt suspension kit which is almost the same as the mach1 kit ( i think the mach 1 kit has slightly stofter dampers in the rear)... What do you want from the car? Do you want it to handle real well, or you just want to stiffen things up a tad?

I would suggest buying the struts and shocks from www.fordpartsnetwork.com and then getting some springs that will lower the front a little more like the steeda competition springs (1.25" lowered). the drop is better than stock, but its only .75" in front.

My price out the door is $260 thats with tax. Dealers aren't like performance shops they don't match prices or stuff like that.

The prices that GEF and Stangestore have are between wholesale and retail.

cody,

You are absolutely correct when you say that dealers don't price match. I work at a Ford store and my price for FRPP 3.73's are $173 + tax, and I can get them from GEF racing for 139 + tax!! When I brought this up to the parts mgr, he said it must be a misprint.

Some dealers do give discounts and at least try to price match. They may not be able to meet some of the lower prices but, they do have wiggle room. It pays to build a relationship with a specific dealer because they can do more than you think they can if they know you as a regular customer. When I lived in Orlando I had been with the same dealer for nearly 10 years, bought two cars from them and gave them lots of service and parts department business. Most of them knew me by name and I never had an issue with getting discounts or any problems with saying hay I can get this cheaper here what can you do for me.

There are also the dealers trying to develop an internet presence. When I was a member of Contour.org we had a member who was a Lincoln Mercury dealer parts guy. He regularly gave members discounts and did a lot of business that way. There are also a couple of 'Stang forums with Ford parts guys that do the same thing.

just remember the Mach is only maybe a 1/2" lower than the GT...but the struts are harder up front and the shocks are just a tad softer...

what you should feel is just a tighter ride, but it will launch slightly better than a stock GT's suspension.
