I am looking to purchase the tmi seat cushions and not sure the difference between the 87-89 and the 90-93 seats . I bought a 1990 lx and it has gt seats in it but not sure which year they are from . Can someone guide me in the differences in the two year sets ?
They aren’t really “GT” seats, as they came in most v8 LXs as well. The only LX 5.0s to not get them were the 87-88 hatch and the 87-90 notch.
87-89 seats feature a “tall back” foam and larger headrests
87–89 on right, 90-91 on left. Ignore the headrests as both have the 83-86 halo headrests on them. The seat frames are the same, it’s the foam that’s taller.
All 87-91 sport seats feature the pull out leg extension. Seen above.
90-91 seats feature small headrests and the pull out extension like this
92-93 seats are the same as 90-91 except no pull out thigh extension.
