A month or so back I read an article in a mustang rag talking about adding the FRPP power pack. They were able to shave off almost .3 of a second and one of things they mentioned was short shifting 3rd.
Lately I have been noticing my 3rd gear when shifting from 2nd seems to bog down for a second. Now I know if I ran the RPM range I wouldn't have this issue... or would I? Today I was coming into an area here in Portland were two highways merge together and like most drives they all start to slow down because they have to merge (numbskulls!!!) I was in 4th gear and accelerated. At first I thought it would bog down like third but it didn't it accelerated nicely and caught me off guard (within no time I was at 80mph). I'm not sure about the RPM range but it was definately under 3k (to start).
Can anyone explain the 3rd gear lag/bog for me?
