GT vs Cobra TB...same thing?

Their all 60mm for sn95 cars. The 93 Cobra was 65mm. 86GT's were 58mm. I know my TB's :D
you know your TB's? on my 94 GT, can i put in an aftermarket TB 65 or maybe 70 mm without reprogramming anything on my chip to get it to run good/right?

Put as big as you want, NO programming is needed. Just make sure the inlet of the manifold matches whatever size TB you use. Use a dremel to open it up if needed. A TB is nothing more than a big metal circle with a blade that opens to let air in. Too many people get their tampons all red over going "too big". My rule of thumb is whatever size your manifold inlet is, use that size TB. Once you start getting into more powerful combo's and/or bigger inches, break out the dremel on some manifolds if needed to run a bigger tb. I'd like to swap to a 90mm tb down the road once my 347 is running. I must be out of my mind going that big

I would have to agree there, your logic makes perfect sense. :nice:

i'd tend to agree with how you explained it, my only thinking was that the blade is open letting in a certain amount of air which coincides with the throttle position... didnt know if the air/fuel curve would be messed up or the spark curve would be off, but then again the air fuel ration is pplied with the info from the MAF, so thanks for the info... :D

LS2 engines come stock with 90mm tb's and the new thing for LS1's is the FAST Intake with a 90mm tb. Those are bigger engines with heads that flow alot but still, they run tb's that big and people sometimes thing 65's are huge for a 302 LOL

Not really adding anything, just helping hijack the thread. ;)
