gt vs svt block?..help!!...

ok i am going to need a re build or a new engine, now i just want to know does a 2001 svt block fit in a 2002 gt without any major upgrades or problems?.. please help me.

yes, the block is a bolt in deal.

ok there shouldnt be any problems with the swapping too the svt block?and also will the gt tranny hold up?.. will i need any other major upgrades?.. does anybody know where i can get a cheap use svt block?

Yup...& quite a bit lighter....Internals arent any better though....

ok so would a gt swap for a svt block would be a lot of a hassel to do? would i have to upgrade a lot of stuff? would the tranny even hold up?.. please help me out, tia.

The tranny in an 01 Cobra & 01 Gt are exactly the same. They both have the same TR3650 & some of the earlier 01 models had the T45. the tranny should be fine. Im not sure exactly what the swap takes, but i believe the block is a swap? IMO, if your going to swap in another block, u might as well get forged internals...

Also a 96-98 Cobra, 99 cobra, & 03-04 mach 1 blocks are all aluminum & should all bolt up. The 96-98 Cobra Teksid block are arguably the strongest, but all of the mentioned blocks should handle 700+ hp...just not with the stock internals....

I would personally go with the earlier teksid block.......
