I pulled out an E when I put the custom in. In my combo, the E behaved like you (90mustanggt) described the B in yours - very rough idle, big loss of bottom end, poor gas mileage -- pretty much a disaster, although it did pull pretty good from 3500-5500. But that rush wasn't anywhere near worth the loss in bottom and overall drivability issues. Many don't have that problem though.
