.045 side gapped. But I have a crane hi-6 and that makes fat enough sparks even at .045 gap

.054 stock gap should be no problem..that's what I ran with my original engine, and the one in my signature.

hmm. Well the ones I took out were .045, and it ran well with those, so I gapped the new ones just a tad under (assuming the old ones were worn down).

I took the new plugs from the box and the gap was .045 so I was like....looks good to me. Works just fine. Running 19 degrees timing and getting good combustion.

No thats 87 pump gas. I think when I relieved the valves and polished the chambers and smoothed the plug boss and I might have also used a thicker gasket by accident...I'm thinking I lowered the compression by half a point. I've had it up to 24 degrees (!!!?!?! I know) but performance seems to drop off after about 19. I'm also running 4oz/10 gal acetone to increase combustion effectiveness and the car is light running 4.56's so engine load is never that high. I cant seem to ever get it to really ping. I supposed I should be happy about it.
