GT40X Heads (64cc) and F303. Piston clearance?

Hey fellas,

I have gt40X heads (1.94 and 1.54) never milled.
Stock 1994 5.0 block and pistons. Never machined.
I want to purchase an F303 cam.
I know I must check piston to valve clearance.
If I install it and it doesn't clear I most likely will not be able get a refund of my $200.

Does it usually clear?

i've got the gt-40x heads with a b-cam and 1.72rrs.that should equal your f-cam and 1.6s.mine clears fine.let me know how it runs because after christmas i'm going to switch to 1.6s and a f-cam.

Close except the f-cam has a LSA of 114 vs. 112 for B.

you should be right around a .518 lift i belive

Hey Jozey. I see in your sig you have an f303 and afr heads. Stock pistons?

jozey,actually it's .516.you take the lift which is .300,multiply by 1.6 and it's .480.1.72 by .300 is .516.

F cam and 1.6 rockers cleared fine on my stock block and unmilled 64cc GT40X heads. Pulls hard till the rev limiter (6250 rpm). No driveability issues either. Very happy.
