do you guys think that these control arms will be good enough for our GT's or i'm better off going aftermarket? its a direct bolt on no modifications needed! you would think it will be sufficient enough since the GT500 has much more torque.
for the price, i would go aftermarket. IIRC, the GT500 arms are $200/pair. you can get aftermarket arms for much less, and with proven results. the GT500 bushings are supposed to be a higher durometer, but i dont know if they match or exceed the options available from the aftermarket. i have the J&M arms, and for about $100, i am very happy with the product. the only advantage that is obvious for me with the GT500 arms is the factory look.
also, seems to me that the GT500 owners are changing out the arms as well.
They are probably a great compromise for those who have had aftermarket control arms with poly bushings before and endured the extra noise and harshness. I will be going the GT500 route if wheelhop becomes a problem. Don't count them out.
Aftermarket manufacturers tailor their product to what they think you'll pay with a little profit thrown in. GT500 product is tailored to what Ford bean-counting accountants will pay that doesn't cost more than a dollar. That's my guess anyway. I'll bet you none of the tuners are lining up at a Ford parts counter waiting to buy them.
I was looking at them, but something like the Steeda arms look more substantial to me for the money, and I think they would look great on my car as my Ford Racing sway bars are blue color also.
I bought the BMR double rod end LCA's from a friend for $100 bucks and they are amazing. A little loud, but not enough to matter unless you are the type of person that declares Jihad on any sort of squeak in your car. He bought CHE double poly end fixed length LCA's after he sold me his and they work great and the noise is definitely less than the ones I have.
I would personally just buy aftermarket that way you don't really have to worry about them working or not.
