I really like the look of the GT500 wing and would like to replace my standard one. Does anyone offer a pre-painted wing that utilizes both factory mounting holes? I'm not real sure about the long term reliability of the one that Atlanta Auto sells with it only being held with 2 screws and tape. I REALLY do like the looks of it though

Plenty of people have the 3D carbon wing with only the two holes with no problem. You can drill two more if you like, but it's definitely not needed. You will pay twice what Atlanta Mustang or the eBay guys charge to get a Ford factory one. Two screws and tape and you'll be fine. Some spoilers only use tape, so you'll be golden.

Thanks for the reply. Did you install a GT500 wing from Atlanta Mustang and are you happy with it? I really do like the look of it I was just concerned about the long-term quality.

Thanks!

I installed mine about a month ago and it is holding up perfectly I have had it up over 100+ MPH 11 times since install with no ill effects...of course those 11 times were all at the track last Sunday(105+ MPH)
It does include 4 screws and 4 holes drilled in the bottom of the spoiler. If you so choose you can drill your trunk lid and install the other 2 screws out closer to the ends of the spoiler...I did not.

Yup, mines been on about 3 weeks longer than his with no problems, and has also seen several 100+mph runs.

I installed one last week early in the day at work… install was a breeze
–thanks kooldawg great write up and nice reference pics.

Call me crazy but I wanted to know just how well this tape would hold up without drilling the two outer holes on the deck lid and ran it through a touch less car wash that same night. It had been on the deck lid for close to 9 hours and my eyes were glued to it in the mirror while the blower dried the car. Also some 100mph+ runs this passed weekend and it is stuck solid all the way across.

Prep the deck lid well before installing and you will be fine.

Apparently installing this spoiler makes you want to run down the strip!

Glad to help 281ponies I knew that I'd take pics along the way to hopefully help others.
Sweet that it held going through the car wash for you. I always hand wash my baby and don't think I would/could ever take her through a car wash.

I hand wash 90% of the time myself but there are times when a quick run through the Touch Less carwash on a basic rinse setting, then a quick dry saves a lot of time. The heavy detergents and waxes I avoid $3 for a high pressure rinse and dry just removes the light dust and water spots from those 15 minute rain showers during the middle of the day. Plus I keep a nice coat of wax on her but the wing… did hold up nicely.

Got mine from The Spoiler Store on ebay for $150 painted and it's great. Certainly the only issue with it coming off would be how the hell I would ever achieve it without ripping the bootskin off.
