Guages on start up

Wonderign whats goign on.... everytime I start my car in the morning my guages go all wacko... like when you unhook your battery and hook it back up the guages go completly all the way to the other side... rpms go to max..speedo goes to 200mph then it resets itself seconds later...any idea why it doing that?

the newer mustangs have a se;f diagnostic that can be done but holding the trip reset in an turning the key but not sure why yours does it on start up every time.

Maybe your battery is going bad? Might want to check it out just to be sure.

you should take a pic of the speedo going to 200 and save it as your avatar

My mom has a 99 3.8 and hers has been doing the same thing as the battery is going bad (original part)so you may be due a battery...

mine goes whacko if I disconnecto batt. but normal everyday start up
