i ended up using a wire that came out of the dimmer switch, that was hot when i hit the lights. HOWEVER, i heard there is a way to wire it up to the actual fuse in the fuse box and they will dim. you wire it up to the side that is not hot when you take the fuse out. you should give it a try. the 12v switched wire i used a unused plug under my dash. i tapped into a grey w/yellow line wire in that plug. it got hot when i turned the key, works good, youll just have to poke around some

I didn't even bother hooking my gauges up to my dimmer in my TC, mostly because I have indiglo gauge faces over my stockers, so I have the lights in the panel turned down really low so they don't show through. I actually hooked up a relay for the gauge lighting in the engine bay (for my tach & three gauges yet to come) so that I wouldn't have them all running off the headlight switch, as I figured that would probably be a fire hazard. All ya have to do to do that is splice off one of the power wires for the parking lights and run it to the relay as the switched power source. Run a line from the battery for the power wire and it's good to go.

As for the tubing for the boost gauge, you can just tee it into any part of the vacuum system.

For the gauges in my GT I just ran the power for the lights to the dead side of the fuse for the dimmer so they dim with my lights (not that I ever dim them anyway). I ran the power wire for the gauges themselves to the dead side of the fuse for the blower motor. I also put a 1 amp fuse in line with both power wires for added safety.
