I'm waiting for it to come out on XBOX360! I head over to my friend's house every once in a while to get my urge of playing out!

I love those games to death, but the skill level progression is really steep. Medium is almost too easy, and Hard is just friggin' insane by comparison.

I bought Guitar Hero II first and managed to play all the way through Medium within two days, then got Guitar Hero I and beat that on Medium in one day. As soon as I moved up to Hard, though, I totally begin to suck, because having to deal with that extra fret button is kicking my arse ... plus the fact that the thing scrolls twice as fast, the crowd acts really nasty to every error you make, there's a lot more notes to deal with (instead of having to hit every other note), and I get booed off stage on every other song. Not having a practice option in the first game really sucks because the solos just screw me up completely.

I suck at playing guitar in reality, but farting around with Guitar Hero does seem to have limbered up my fingers just a little bit, and it's actually sort of teaching me the necessity of learning how to alternate-pick. (Used to be totally hooked on nothing but downstrokes.) Still isn't going to do anything to help with my addiction to power chords, though...

I some saw dope at the store miming along to the game, while his friend actually played. And I thought people doing that to DDR was retarded? HA!

Never played but it looks ok. I know I'd stumble around 'faking' it rather than actually playing, though.

I just wish they hadn't made the controller look so childishly retarded and small. It looks like something churned out by Fisher-Price, which is really what made me steer clear of the whole thing for months before one of my buddies convinced me it was way more fun that it looked at first glance.

What really sucks now is that, even if I have the volume on the TV turned all the way down to like 2 (out of like 30), my ex-girlfriend/roommate complains that the sound of the buttons clicking constantly is keeping her awake. It's mostly that strumming switch that makes the noise - snick snick snick snick snicksnicksnicksnick - and me slapping my fingers on the fret buttons because I suck at doing quick transitions on there. (This Hard level is still totally kicking my butt.)

I just wish there was an online version of the game in that you could download regularly updated song lists with all sorts of random stuff on there. It's nice they got two Megadeth songs between the two games on there, but there's only one Stevie Ray Vaughn and one Jimmi Hendrix tune on there ... w'ssup with that? If they could score the song rights, they could really benefit from expanding the list to include Iron Maiden, Manowar ("Sting of the Bumblebee" would be the hardest song, EVARRRR!), Rammstein, BB King, more Pantera, more Brian Setzer/Stray Cats, more Black Label Society, Def Leppard, Static-X, Cannibal Corpse ... and, most of all, SLAYER!! ("Raining Blood" or "South of Heaven" would be ideal, but I'd even settle for "Bloodline"). And not that I have anything at all against their predominantly metal-flavored song lists (obviously), but what if they got around to including a few other guitar-heavy music genres? ... namely blues stuff, or rockabilly, both of which they barely touched on with one or two songs, apiece.

Gotta say that, without a doubt, the best song on either game is ... Strong Bad's "Trogdor."

I'm kinda wishing they'd make a PC version, in a way. The port-over would be easy enough, really, and all they'd need to come up with is maybe an adapter for the PS2 controller to work on the PC (instead of coming out with a whole separate controller), perhaps through the MIDI port...?

Funny thing, I just managed to make Guitar Hero I crash on my PS2 a minute ago. Since I can actually score a perfect run on ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man" on Medium, I tried it on Expert on a whim ... and right when I got to the end and it started to do the "You Rock!" thing (score of about 95k), the game froze. I guess my console was so amazed that I could actually pass one song on something harder than Medium that it was shocked into submissoin. Then again, I think that if I could actually do the same on something like "Texas Flood" or "Cowboys from Hell," I'd probably drop dead of shock, myself...

My g/f's sister got Guitar Hero 2 for x-mas and i played it with her. She has the first one too, she made me look like a complete idiot lol. She's doing **** on hard and doing a pretty good job and i'm on easy and can't even hit half the notes right. The game is addicting though, i'll probably buy it for the 360 when it comes out.

Now they need a drum hero so you can have a whole band thing going on

The tips of my left-hand fingers hurt like a mofo, but I'm halfway through Hard on both GH1 and GH2!

... and I STILL suck at playing a real guitar!
