Guys---the mustang is wrecked........

Hey guys, i just wanted to let u guys know that on Sep 14th my mustang was wrecked. The story of my accident goes as this......i had just picked my car up from the shop that morning, i was having it tuned, it was running sweet and i was in a great mood. Then from there i proceded to drive to college, back from hurricane days off....I was on interstate 4 and it had started to rain pretty heavily...as usuall traffic was coming to a slow and there was a semi to my right and i was in the far left lane....he did not start to slow down in time and had to swerve across my lane to avoid an accident and he cut me off...therefor i had to slam the brakes causing me to go into an uncontrolled slide accross the interstate, i saved the car from hitting a pick up truck but the started to hydroplane in the water, once the ass end went out there was no saving the car, i slid across all 3 lanes of traffic and slammed into the guard rail sliding for another 30 feet. I was stunned from the accident and had a few minor injuries...the ambulence came and i stopped traffic...it was a big mess, i had to climb out my window because i was pinned up against the wall in the drivers side......i am ok though thank goodness it would have been a lot worse, i hit the wall at about 45 mph but just at the right angle, if i had hit head on i would have smashed my face on the steering wheel and been really injured. Then highway patroll showed up and told me that if i was driving a new car i.e a honda i would be in the hospital due to the fact that the car just would have crunched..thank goodness for mustangs as good old american built tanks but i was devestated, i had worked so hard for the car and to have it royally messed up over a stupid semi driver, and being helpless and not being able to save my baby..i have had no accidents and no tickets and i am 19.....i have to say thats pretty good.....the mustang is at a local body shop and we are making plans to start to fix it....lots of body pannels bumpers ect needed, but thank goodness the block is ok and the frame is good.......i just needed to vent, i have been really depressed lately and positive feedback would be greatly appreciated.........

Yeah, stupid semi driver...after the crash the highway patrol man asks if i got his liscens plate, i said yea, as i am hitting a guard rail at 45 mph i saw it, took put my peice of paper and wrote it down....the semi driver drove away, i dont even know if he saw the crash, but i was pissed, i also was in shock, i sat in the car for 2 mins just stairing strait ahead and my adrenaline was pumping so i didnt feel hurt, i called my dad and told him i was in an accident and he and my mom both drove to help me......then a passer by stopped and called 911........wasnt any fun..the feeling of being helpless and not being able to save urself is not good, just brace for impact....

i live in central florida around orlando, the hurricanes were pretty bad, but the garage had my car in it, but obviously not now...thanks all u guys for ur support...i dont know what i would do without u all.....just dont know where the money to fix it is going to come from,but i think my parents are gonna help me out....but now i get to put all the new fiberglass parts that i have always wanted on the car nad get a new paint job...guess ya got to look at the bright side

thanks, yeah, the only guy that stopped was the guy that was behind me, the trcuk kept going and he wanted to make sure i was ok, so he didnt fallow the semi......i dont know...i feel like a 80 year old man, being in a crash is kinda weird...dont feel hurt at first then the next day its like u got hit by a train...lol well yeah, i guess i have to look at the bright side that i am ok and the car will be repaired, and it will be better than it was before....so yeah, u guys are awesome and i feel a lot better about the whole situation.....the thing with the insurance is i have it, but since there were no other cars hit and i didnt get the liscence plate of the semi, the crash is "a one car crash" and that means i am at fault....the police man said that if i filed a claim my insurance would skyrocket seeing as i am only 19 and have a 1966 mustang.....so we are not going to tell the insurance company and take it out of pocket and in the long run it will be better..
