Alright, so I got my HIDs in my headlights and fog lights a little over a week ago. I love em! They look AWESOME (6000k), and the light output is SO much better than the stockers. I aimed the headlights down and to the right just a bit, and there is VERY little glare. I got my brother to drive my car, and I drove my mom's Accord, and the glare from my headlights is honestly as little or less than the stock bulbs.

However, the glare from the fog lights is pretty bad. Bad enough that I don't feel comfortable driving with them on because I know they are blinding other drivers. It doesn't matter where they are pointed, the glare goes in all directions it seems.

My question: is there any way to reduce the glare from the fog lights? I was thinking of putting down some black tape on the inside bottom of the light housing (which would be causing the upwards-direction glare). And if done carefully and correctly, I doubt you'd be able to see the tape on the bottom of the fogs.

What do you guys think? Other suggestions?

And p.s. Please don't ghey up my thread by telling me not to use HIDs. I like em way to much now. Might even make a retrofit projector sometime down the road (pun intended).

I've had HID's in my Mustang for more than 3 years now. I've run 8000k and 6000k. I'm now running 8000k headlights and 6k fogs. The fogs don't seem to have any glare at 6k, but at 8k, in the stock housings glare was horrible and I got flashed frequently. I've since switched over to clear fog lenses and that actually cut down on some glare.

Pointing the headlights down slightly moreso than stock helps big time with the glare, at least in my '99's case.

Went ahead and replaced my fog stockers, the stockers were scattering light and plus the housing started to crack. Might be worth replacing your stockers for a much clearer lens.

Yea, the headlight glare isn't a problem at all.

I actually have clear fog lights now (got them at the same time as the HIDs, along with new clear headlights). It seems that the glare is mostly coming from the bottom side of the housing. The actual beam is pointed about 20 feet in front of the car, and the glare doesn't change with how I have them pointed.

Not to go OT on your thread I was wanting to know where you bought your HID kit from for the regular lights and fogs? I have the DDM kit and I only have the regular lights fitted with the HID's not the fogs and want to get them fixed with HID's...

Thanks!!

No problem.

I got both kits from DDM. The fogs use the 880 bulb.

So I would buy the same kit I bought for the driving lights for the fogs? Sorry for all the questions...

No problem, again.

Yes, the same kit, just choose the 880 bulb type in the selection box. I bought this kit twice over, selecting the 9007 hi/lo bulb one time, and the 880 bulb the other time (and obviously selecting the color you want each time as well).
