wythors said:Exactly what I did. I actually bought a fresh hose from Ford, cut about a 2-inch piece, threaded a bolt into it, clamped it to the fitting and put a clamp around the bolt. I can't imagine it ever leaking.

mob said:Hey guys, when I did my explorer intake swap, it didnt have a tap for that hose in the lower intake. So i plugged it. But when I plugged it where it connects to the coolant line, i tried using a normal vacuum plug. First my bypassed heater core hose splits. I fixed that, not on the way to work, that little plug on the coolant line blows a hole and coolant goes everywhere. I pluged that again with a cork and put a vacuum plug over it just for temp to get home. And on the way home of course something happened with the heater core hose, I couldnt see because it was pitch black but i was blinded by the smoke when i opened my hood and the heater core hoses were whistling. Now I know the hose I need for the heater core, but what do you guys plug that little thing with? I know the pressure if probably too much for that little vacuum plug, whats the best thing to you? Why does everything keep blowing up.

heater is bypassed by using some copper pipe fittings sweat soldered to
make a U and clamped with hose clamps.
If you had PM'ed me before you got started, I could have stopped by and
given you some help. Since I have the Explorer manifold on my car, you could
have seen what went where. Chuluota is only 15 minutes from Winter Springs.
