Don't read too far into this. Here is the scenario:

58cc AFR 165 heads. Stud mounted

Which ARP bolts should i get?

I look online and it says Head bolts then another link for head studs

Which do i need??? The head bolts are 100 bones cheaper. Whats the deal?

Are you talking about rocker studs, head studs, or head bolts?

On a stock shortblock 302, head studs are a waste. Some will say that head studs have more clamping force. It shouldn't come down to that. If you lift the heads off the block, something isn't right. The clamping device should not be blamed.

Buy ARP bolts and forget about it.

does anyone want to comment on Joes response? From what ive been taught in school, you arent supposed to reuse the studs or the bolts.

arp 154-3601 for head bolts I'd use head studs though, thats what i'll be using if I ever do a new combo and add some inches to the engine

I went with ARP head BOLTS, 7/16" and you are right about not being able to reuse the stock ones. I think the 351 uses 1/2" bolts.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
