H and R Supersports....

Once my nitrous is done installed, I want to get a drop...BADDD. I have already made my mind up on the h and r's, so with the springs and some caster camber plates would I be all set?? I don't need new shocks/struts right?? And I don't need a bumpsteer kit do i??

I must say H&R's give the perfect drop. :nice:
If you are dropping your car that low I would highly subjest getting a
set of Caster Camber Plates like MM or Steeda C/C plates they are two
good choices. Also you will need a good alignment after you install your
H&R's unless you like replacing tires every six months.I would replace
your struts and shocks if they are stock because they will have a quick
death after you drop your car.Bilstien,Koni,Tokico are all really good brands
to get.Post some pics after you drop your car please.

I dont know how soon it will be, hopefully a month or so. How much do shocks/struts cost??
All prices are different depending on the brand you get.
I got my Bilstien struts and shocks on eBay for 550 brand new.
My Bilstien's held up very we'll and I highly subjest them. They cost
but, they are the best in my opnion and they will last for a long time. :nice:

God another grand for suspension it looks haha...modding a car gets expensive. Thanks for the help pennywise, you've been a big help.
No problem Kyle I am glad I could help! :nice:
I agree modding a mustang can easily get expensive.
Just do what you can afford.
I will be installing H&R Sport springs on my 96 one day. :D

Do you think I would be ok with just the springs and cc plates for a while?? I just want to get rid of the 4x4 look.
Yes you should be fine for a while but, get them installed as soon as
you can after you install your springs though.Don't forget to get an
alignment after you install your springs.
Get rid of that 4X4 stance at all costs lol.

No sense you get the springs and cc plates and pay for an alignment, then buy the shocks/struts 6 months or so later, take it all apart again, then pay for ANOTHER alignment again. That 80 bucks or so can be spent elsewhere.

JMO.

Yeah but not everyone has to money to do so all at once. Eventhough I did do it all at once, my Bilstein Struts and Shocks were by far the most expensive part of the mod. At least half the cost.

Ive had my car lowered with super sports for like 6 months now on the stock shocks and struts and it's still fine.

But def. need the c/c plates and a good alignment.

I bought the lifetime alignment deal from one of my local tire places.. so if i ever needed to get it done again, I could. Might be a good idea to look into that if you'd like.

You can definitely save yourself some money if you install all the parts yourself. After the first time I replaced the springs and struts/shocks, I CUT the install time in half. Its pretty straightforward work and there are some good instructions to follow if you do a thread search. If you buy a lifetime alignment, it makes life easier in the long run.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm just going to do the springs and cc plates for now. I'm going to install them myself to save money. I'll get that lifetime alignment thing you guys are talking about so I wont waste money. What places offer this?? And how much money is it??

FYI: I realize NE Stangs are a little bit different than SN95's. Our cars look more like that have a "lift" from the factory, lol. This is just to show you that your choice in products are THE BEST.

H&R Super Sports
Maximum Motorsports Caster/Camber Plates
Tokico HP Struts & Shocks for Fox Body
(I chose these so they wont hyper-extend with the drop)

Ride is BETTER than stock .....

BTW, the back is usually a hair lower. I removed like 30+ lbs. from the rear of the car, plus I was almost out of gas.
