I have a Trickflow top end kit installed on my 1988 GT but the cruise control does not work. Is there anything about a top end kit that would prevent me from fixing the cruise or do I likely just have a faulty component?

As long as you have vacuum to the cruise control unit it will be a component failure, swapping the intake should have no effect, if it worked before the install it should work after.

Nothing specific to the kit should cause it to not work. Who did the install? Possible a component got removed or never hooked back ip

I've done quite a few HCI swaps, and never had a cruise control problem. As other's have said, check for vacuum leaks.

Thanks for the replies!

The cruise has been broken since before I installed the H/C/I. I was just wondering if it was worth troubleshooting or not. It sounds like it definitely is! Thanks for the info

Absolutely, if you want it, fix it. It won't be affected by the H/C/I.

Dump the computer codes, look for codes 27 or 29.
