H/C/I combos on stock 86 short block?

Anyone have a H/C/I combo on a stock 86 block w/ flat top pistons? Any numbers/times? What size valves & cam lift can you use before having to notch the pistons?

E7's are a popular swap and greatly improve performance on an '86 shortblock. P/V clearance might be close but you should always measure with any headswap. FYI the iron E7's came on 87-95 Mustang 5.0's as well as Broncos/F-150's(forget which years) and can be found at pretty much any boneyard for cheap. I've heard GT-40s as well, and even Trickflow??? Not familiar with cam options but have heard people mention some type of cam from Crower. As far as intakes goes, you can pretty much get away with any, respectively(Cobra/Explorer, 87-93 upper, GT40, Edlebrock, T.F., etc..)

I honestly can't tell you first hand. I've heard some may clear some may not since each and every car is different from the factory. I think you may be better off posting this on the corral. www.corral.net, I know there are a number of guys in there runnin H/C/I combos on their '86. BTW, I know it's none of my business but are you plannin on upgrading the 30,000 virgin in your sig??? That's a very low mileage '86 if any fox Mustang, and if I were you I'd not even touch the car. I'd get another higher mileage fox to tinker with and take the '86 to cruises and car shows. JMO though.
