H.E.I Vacuum

My car has an H.E.I distributor and the horn is pluged so my question is does my car have a different form of advancing the timing??

THe HEI uses vacuum to advance the distributor (or at least my old one [on a Chevy] did) Have you removed the cap / rotor to see what lies beneath yet? Maybe to run on a Ford it needs to be converted to use the EEC for advance..?

Haven't removed anything yet. But there is no computer so tell me if I'm wrong but doesn't the eec go when the computer goes.

Yeah the EEC is part of the computer. I am not up to par on swaping a chevy distributor into a Ford but I can try to help out. I can search online and report back what I find
