I am trying to gauge how loud my 06 GT would be if I installed an h-pipe with my flowmaster axleback. Ive had a 03 GT with a prochamber and flows and a 90 GT with longtubes, dr gas X pipe and flows. Will this set up be as loud as my previous stangs? I don't want louder. Any input?

2005+ Mustangs come with a H Pipe from the factory with 2.5" aluminized tubing.

It's not aluminized, it's stainless steel. If you are thinking about an off road, catless H-pipe it will be very loud.

it will double the volume. with the stock H, its hard to hear the car idle, after it is warm. you wont have that problem after the O/R H is installed.

I have the same exhaust set-up as you and wanted more of the "FLOWMASTER" tone, that's why I just ordered the Pypes O/R H-Pipe from Brenspeed. Right now they have a killer deal on these $139.99 shipped! I'll let you know what I think of my set-up once I get everyting installed, I'm hoping for tomorrow, even though the high is supposed to be 20 degrees F. Personally, I want my car to be louder and have more of the tone all of my other previous FLOW'd Mustangs had. I guess I'll see once everything is installed.

As I mentioned in the title, follow the link to hear what the car is going to sound like with the Flowmaster Axle Backs and the Pypes O/R H-Pipe, the video is the 11th from the top.

"2005 Mustang GT with a Pypes off road H-pipe and FLOWMASTER AXLEBACK. We feel these mufflers sound good with the H-pipe. Cabin noise and drone are less than some of the others we have tested."

Mustang Sound Files & Videos by Brenspeed

Here is a link to the H-Pipe:
05-07 MUSTANG GT 2.5" OFF ROAD H PIPE PYPES

If you've been on this Forum very long you'll see that BRENSPEED is top notch and in my opinion one of the BEST companies that I have ever dealt with!

Iv'e dealt with Brenspeed in the past and IMO they are great to deal with. The Pypes h pipe was the one I had my eye on. I have listened to tons of clips and the sound is great, I just can't get a handle on the volume. Let us know how you like em..

It is loud! I now run the O/R H with MACs and it's just as loud, but a little deeper sounding.

Here is video from one of our club's drag days. My car is at 2:00 and 5:38 (solo pass).

Pypes O/R H-Pipe Installed

Well, I went ahead and got the new Pypes O/R H-Pipe installed, even though the winter weather wasn't to warm (14 degrees). Anyway, got it all installed and welded all of the joints (say 'No" to clamps ) and all I have to say is, WOW does this thing sound great! I think I've just unleashed the Beast. Is it louder, it sure is, but it's a good tone, sounds like a real muscle car. I'm going to try to get a movie clip together to show the before/after results.

I want to see/hear it also!
Thanks! There is just a brief RPM range that it gets "tinny", but that doesn't last long and the sound just keeps on keepin' on! I love going under overpasses, through tunnels and along side jersey walls with the windows down

It will be VERY loud! I have Flows and an o/r h-pipe. Believe it or not, the headers helped quiet down the exhaust, and took away the "trumpeting" sound it was making between 2,500 and 3,000 rpm. But yes, it will be MUCH louder.

I hope you're as pleased with it as I am mine...I paired it with a set of Borla stingers and the sound is phenomenal. Sadly, there isn't really an accurate way to relay the sound w/ videos...the depth of sound just isn't there. Be cautious, as the boys in blue definitely take a good deal more notice of the car once the O/R pype is on there. Enjoy man, its one of the best buy's I've made to date.

I finally installed the Pypes O/R H paired with Flowmaster axlebacks. When I first started it I thought to myself; this ain't that loud, then I went for a test cruise and that changed to WTF did I do. Inside the car had me thinking that it was loud as hell while driving normal so I had somebody drive the car while I was following. The tone is awesome and it's not obnoxious. This thing sounds awesome, it's only loud when you want it to be. Install was a breeze and IMO it's no louder than a fox body with full exhaust. Thanks everybody for the input this is one of the best mods for me yet.

Sounds like it sounds wicked! I just got the o/r Pypes H to match up to my Bassani Axelback, gonna get it installed this week, can't wait to hear it! The Bassani sounds good at wot but I'd like it lil louder and meaner idle.....

Hopefully this does it

Just get ready to clean the tailpipes frequently.... Unfortunately that is the price you pay for that awesome sound.

Hey man, I was just wondering how you liked the "trumpeting"? I have the same set-up as you and after I installed my Pypes O/R H-Pipe and DROVE the car, I too said WTF did I just do! I hate the "trumpeting" sound, it's so annoying! The rest of the exhaust tone sounds great, but I just can't get over the "tinny" sound. I just ordered some Pypes M80's (Resonators) and I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hoping this will cure my problem. I was just wondering what your thought were?

The "trumpeting" for some reason isn't that bad to me; the uncontrollable smile big enough to cover my ears up while I'm driving could be the culprit. I do understand what your saying though, it probably will get annoying to me but I`m just going to have to live with it. I am not changing this
sound at all. I did here the resonators will cure the problem.
