My 00 GT has Flowmaster American Thunder cat back. Im thinking of replacing the stock cats and H pipe with an "offroad X pipe or H pipe. Which should I go with? Also what brand has best ground clearence? My current mods are K&N intake kit, throttle body, and the Flowmaster cat back, along with Eibach Sportline springs, and Tokico shocks. This is my DD with 62000 miles. I guess I'll just swap in the stock cat pipes for smog. Also I assume all the off road pipes have all necessary sensor connections for the motor to run right. Also do I need the MIL eliminators?

you'll definetly need MILs if you dont want to look at the SES light.

If you go o/r xpipe w/ flows, stick to URP, VRS, mustangtuning.com, Dr.Gas or Magnaflow.

You may want to look into the Mac Prochamber as well. sounds sick w/ 2 chamber flows.

not too bad. if you use a LONG flat head screwdriver, you'll be able to undo the front O2 sensors. if you have a good supply of extensions and swivel sockets, you'll be in good shape. Watch hitting your tools on the starter though i would throw a rag over it to prevent a zap

Or disconnect the battery anyway, as you will need to do it to reset the PCM after the install.

when you know people at Borla, magic things happen. also if you call up Summit and tell them you need replacement mufflers for your borla catback they can order them for you. but my way is cheaper. i also know the person that has the first borla exhaust equipped mustang.

can you at least give me a price guestimate? of course id have to go through summitt. i was searching for them for a long time, and even though you say this way works, you still cant just go to borla's web-site and buy them, or even call them and get em. when i talked to borla they told me they werent available seperately. thats the only thing that bothers me. no doubt borla makes some of the best exhaust products around, i just like how almost every other company offers their mufflers seperately and openly advertises them.

thanks again man.

I had flowmaster 2 chambers with a Mac O/R H and I loved the sound it made. Unfortunately I had to put on cats so that setup is gone. I'd def keep it between the Prochamber and H, my catted X with flows sounded very generic

I just went through this thought process and decided to go with the MAC o/r H-pipe. According to the picture the DuraBlack pipe comes in 3 pieces were the alluminized pipe is one piece. I read a thread a few days ago where someone said you could buy the catted "legs" and just bolt them in when you have inspection. I'm sure it would be a little less painful to change, but maybe not cost effective verses just using the stock stuff. Just thought I would give you another idea. Luckily, I don't have to worry about emissions YET!!!

listen to different exhaust combos in person. 2/3 of the vids on mustangexhaust.com sound like ass. If you hear a bad ass sounding stang, just ask the owner what he/she is running. i had a guy at target stop me today and ask what im running b/c he loved it. He had a pretty sweet full PI swap/bolt-on 96 GT
