I just got a mac off-road h-pipe put on my 02 gt and i heard that it may make you lose power because your losing backpressure but other ppl have said that you gain power by having an h. So im kinda confused and idk if i made a mistake or made a good move i just need some opinions thanks

I definetly didn't notice any loss of power with mine and I eliminated 6 cats with it and went to a 2 1/2 " pipe from stock.

Chalk that up as somebody who knows nothing.

Its worth a solid tenth and 1mph in the quarter. around 10hp.

When I had to go back to my stock h for smog from my o/r prochamber I definitely felt the loss in power, you should gain a lil bit of torque and a good little chunk of horsepower. The place where I really noticed the difference between the two was the rain and my ability to spin the tires. The o/r pipe made an even bigger difference with the addition of my catback.

It does

In general you gain some top end HP and your low end torque peak tends to move up a bit.

If you have gears or gobs of power you never notice it, but a near-stock non-PI Automatic GT with 2.73's could become slower with such a mod. It all depends ont he setup

The Mac Prochamber is awesome! It sounds great with no cats and Flowmaster 40's with the nice muscle car rumble at idle.

just based on the way the X pipe sounds - go with the prochamber, it's a combination of the two and, from what I've read, provides the best power and sound combo of X & H.

No power loss here with O/R H, I have a Mac also. The car runs better with my Plenum/75mm Throttle Body combo. Haven't had time to dyno it yet.
