I was wondering, Instead of buying an H pipe, wouldn't deleting my cats and just put a tube between the two pipes to act as the "H Pipe" be virtually the same thing? Like it would be alot cheaper to do this and get the same hp.

You already have an h-pipe on your car now, assuming it's a standard 88 mustang. If you know how to weld, then it would be cheaper to delete you cats yourself.

Deleting the cats would more than likely give you more power, but as far as adding a crosstube between the pipes, there should already be one in the factory exhaust, if you're referring to the car listed in your signature. The h-pipes from the factory are only 2 1/4 inch pipe, versus the 2 1/2 pipe from most of the other manufacturers.

Aftermarket pipes are also mandrel bent. Factory pipes are not.
