Will a h/C/I KB supercharged Fox hang with Big Dogs? Like lightly modded LS1's, LS2's, Mach 1's, 03-04 cobras, LS1 Trans ams, GTO's, Ls1 Z28s that are lightly modded/ medium modded(typical exhaust,gears,intake)?
Im talkin, If I had 306ci, AFR's 185's, Gt-40 lower, Andersons cam, Kenne bell 9 psi Flowzilla, 90mm maf, 75mm TB, Full exhaust, supporting mods, 3.73 gears, G-force T-56, Some maxium Mortorsports susp package, DR's, AND good tune.
Will I hang with the Big DOG's be realistic?

shouldn't be an issue at all. Sounds like a very nice setup.

you shouldn't have a problem AT ALL handing any of those cars their butt's if properly tuned.

That's very similar to the combo I'm building. A4 block, 336 forged internals, very heavily ported TFS heads with oversized valves, custom cam, porteed/welded GT40 lower, KB Flowzilla pushing 12psi, 90mm MAF, 90mm TB, Powerpipe, longtubes, 3" exhaust, Viper T56, and all the MM goodies.

I'm hoping for at least 500rwhp, I think we'll both be hangin' with the big dogs

I'd look for 600s on that combo above.

Ummm..... yeah. My AFR/FTI/Ported Cobra intake combo made 320 rwhp, weighed 2960 w/o me and would hand LS1s their asses on a regular basis. It would hang just fine with the bolt-on LS1s, but with the more heavily modded, they could get away. Add a twin-screw on that and LOOK OUT! Easy 500 rwhp at 12 psi (that's a super conservative estimate). I don't think you'd run into much that could challenge you on the street. Cobras with stock blowers max out around there but weigh a ton more (not literally). F-bodies are a lot heavier and would make the low-end torque you would. I'd say far from being able to hang with the cars you listed, you'd stomp all over their asses.

Agreed. I have yet to lose to any of those cars even lightly modded. Beat me a c5 z06, multiple f bodies and the like. I have a vortech s/c with h/c/ported cobra intake. Pretty fun doing so! Good luck!

Dam those friggen Ls1's....you just cant catch a break. It takes a serious HCI combo and gears just to be even with one. Then they go and toss in some basic CNC heads (AFR's) and a cam...and BAMMM 400 to the wheels and 11's.

This guy back home has an Auto Ws6 with 4.10's and a 3600rpm stall, full exhaust and a cam...and he just chits on everyone. Bastards.

I've been thinking about this all morning and i was snooping around AFR's website and found this little tid bit.

Look at the power of just a stock LS1 longblock, LS6 intake and long tubes. 430fwhp at 5700!!!

Then a little HCI and whammy...530fwhp at 6500!!!!!!!!! Dam

I don't agree here, last night at the track (hot night, terrible prep) there was a stock or light bolt on LS1 running the same class as me...

He ran a best of 13.62 I believe.

I ran a best of 13.109 @ 99 on the brakes. (Had a 13.10 dial in, and a .033 light, just for the record.)

I definately dont have a big HCI. Even the other night (closed course obviousely) I ran a stick shift LS1 with an exhaust (catback at least) from a roll walked a car - car and a half, and from a dig 2 cars!

Now the LS1s with the right mods are insane, and can made huge power, but stock and light modded ones arent out of reach for a simple HCI fox.

25th...I think that my car and yours are pretty close in terms of power numbers. I might have a couple ponies on ya but not much. I figure 265whp. When i come across an stockish LS1 (catback) i normally take them up to about 80-90...but at that point even if i have a car or two...they are commin. those cars pull incredibly well up to 120-130. I understand they are a little heavier...but they just pull so friggen hard up top.

I guarantee if you ran into a 6spd Ls1 with full exhaust, Ls6 intake, and a cam...it would be a different story. Thats not that much work in my book. Exhaust is bolt on...and a cam/intake swap can be done in an afternoon. With that little bit of work now they are putting down an additional 85hwp. just intake/cam/ehaust!

I love the 5.0 dont get me wrong. Im just saying you cant argue with those numbers and a nice 6 speed. They're quick

if you have an h/c/i fox with a blower and you cant handle the ls1-2's you shouldnt be driving a car with that much power. i had an h/c/i 94 cobra around 300 hp give or take a few and i had no problem with intake/exhaust ls1 camaros, trans am's, or vettes...i ran quite a few of them and they would level out with me on the top end but never could get around me unless i missed a gear.

Oh trust me, I know. Our runs went to about 110 or so (closed course) and he wasn't walking, and my car only traps mid 106 mph. I assume his car was pretty much stock. I have a friend here with a bolt on, cammed one that went high 11s on DRs, puts down well over 400 to the tire. Traps 117 I believe, which is nuts for the small amount of work it has! Those cars make us Mustang guys jeleous!

A HCI blower fox shouldnt have an issue with most NA LSx cars short of Z06s and the like. Now boosted or heavily modded ones... thats a new ballgame. Those motors are animals!
