Hang with the Big Dogs...

yeah its like, you cant play the hp number game with camaro's vs. foxes, its like foxes can keep up with allot less power, because of their weight, ect... if you got that setup, the h/c/i and the flowzilla you should be way far ahead of some camaros. just make sure you get yourself a nice fuel pump and injectors. battle boxes and control arms, ect should help.

oh and how do camaros make so much more power on so much less, is just becasue chevy left them at 350's? so when you get simple stuff to increase the amount of air into and out of the engine, your just feedinig more displacement? becuase they are still pushrods right? so if im not mistaken, shouldnt a 351w h/c/i foxes be out there mopping the floors?

Oh trust me, I know. Our runs went to about 110 or so (closed course) and he wasn't walking, and my car only traps mid 106 mph. I assume his car was pretty much stock. I have a friend here with a bolt on, cammed one that went high 11s on DRs, puts down well over 400 to the tire. Traps 117 I believe, which is nuts for the small amount of work it has! Those cars make us Mustang guys jeleous!

A HCI blower fox shouldnt have an issue with most NA LSx cars short of Z06s and the like. Now boosted or heavily modded ones... thats a new ballgame. Those motors are animals!

Thats what im saying though! Thats only about 110. Now at 110 with 3.73s you're getting real close to the top of 4th. And after that point what are you going to do...i always shut down. I refuse to race in overdrive! My car pulls like dog poo in 5th. But a 6 speed LS1...wont stop pulling till 140ish when they start to level off...5th gear is actually useful.

from my guess if it was at a track then you would have little of an advantage since you can hang in 4th but if you are on a closed course (wink wink) then get some tp cause your likely to get chitted on

Well its definitely perspective on what you call big dogs. From what he stated I am living proof that the big dogs go down for the count on both the roll racing and from a dig with this combo. never been shat on while on the "closed circuits" at high speeds...:nice:

Some of you guys are buying to heavily into the LS hype. I own an LS1, and it's a fun car, but nothing for the AFR/FTI/Ported Cobra combo I was running before, and that's a lowly 302. Get more serious with your build and include a stroker package. A worked NA 347 will put out comparable numbers to the worked N/A LS1's. It's just a matter of putting the right parts together.

Chris

so if i get a 351, stroke it out to like 408 or more, get good heads, cam, intake and other stuff I can run with the big dogs? oh and the Big fat turbo will come last :D

Those who refuse to race in 5th

IM going to have a T56 built by g force if needed, if not mabye a 03 cobra t56 6speed will handle the power. Then I can pull on the top end just as any Trans am could with there t-56's...Top end should be a problem, I bet I will pull like a mother with the 6 speed and 3.73's and Kenne bell above 120mph watch out ls1's:jaw: the mustangs here:nono:

Thats true...if you are running a 6 speed you're gonna have some nice highway ratios too. Thats going to be a sick combo. There's nothing like a KB...full boost immediately!

Well honestly they dont make a lot of peak hp...and they really arent meant for high rpm power....and they do generate a LOT of heat...and there is no easy intercooler options for foxes...so high boost numbers cant happen. I also think that Meth Inj kits need to be modified to shoot after the screws.

My buddy ran 13# on his SN for about 5k miles...then the blower took a poop on him.

YIKES...

Will I be OK with the KB at around 9psi, I dont want the blower to break or generate alot of heat, after all it is a street car. And whats Hight RPM, Im using the stock block H/C/I w/ Anderson 2000-6200rpm cam, Im not going to spin the motor higher than 6,000rpm anyway, Is that ok? or will the KB drop off boost before that? Im also using AFR heads with high rev valve springs and 1.7rr's, So there wont be valve float and they will handle the boost better.
