Just my wish to everyone to have a safe and happy celebration tonight who, what why or where ever you may be doing.

Me, I'll be at work, but I'll be thinking about y'all!

Right back atcha, Pal! We're just going to sit around the house, waiting for midnight (Arizona time). Sue's got call for tomorrow, and I've got horses to wash - if the sun comes out from behind today's clouds.

Well, it was interesting. But apparently the better my new year, the worse the rest of year. Judging by last night, it should be a pretty good year...

Typical soldier in Korea: I got drunk. So sue me. Anyway, I wound up taking care of a couple people. We had about 4 people watching out for two really wasted people. One of my buddies from AZ had a little too much, and now we're gonna keep him away from booze til he PCS's (three weeks). It was a lil messy, but he's ok now. Kinda makes me glad I didn't get that drunk.

Crashed at a freinds (where the party was, so we didn't go anywhere). No public intoxication. Didn't break curfew, cuz I was indoors during curfew hours.

Well, it's 2006.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE

Too old to stay up to watch the ball drop, but will be celebrating all day tomorrow by stuffing my face with all kinds of goodies.

Celebrate safely!

I drank a little and watched movies. Pretty uneventful.

I'm trying to work up the ambition to go out and work on Sadie a little today.

A handful of us from the EMFD went to a neighboring FD's annual New Years Breakfast, I was a bad, baaad boy, had a Mimosa w/ my breakfast.....first alcohol I've had in 6 years!
Came back to our firehouse and fell asleep watching the NYJ/Buffalo game!

Well, Fuzzy, it sounds like you had a better time than I did!

Stayed up all night fighting with a nasty little piece of spyware that snuck into my computer - literally 'til 530AM. Slept 'til 9:00 then spent almost all of the rest of the day still dinking around cleaning the sucker out!

For those of you who wander about the web looking at obscure stuff (I was reading about .50 cals on WW2 warplanes when it happened to me); I can only say keep your Ad-Aware, SpyBot S&D and Microsoft Anti Spyware Files up-to-date! McAfee, too! Even so, when none of them catch the "advertising" for "SpyAxe" (which incredibly bills itself as "The Premier Anti-Spyware Program"); you should check in with bleepingcomputers.com and a few other sites to learn how to get rid of the SOB - and don't use SpyAxe's "Uninstall" programs because they don't really work! Be prepared to spend a lot of time running regedit with your computer in the "safe Mode". Ask me how I know
Anyway, it's fixed, now.

I did get the inside of the F150 (still haven't decided on a name/personality for him/her/it) cleaned out; and at least exercised the saddle stock. They didn't get baths because it was too dang cloudy. I need some sun to dry them out completely before they go back into stalls, because Chance (1/2's cranky old racehorse) will find the one spot in his stall that still has a big green turd; and immediately flop down and roll in it

And Sue (Mrs StDr) spent the better part of the day recovering C-sections post-op.

My big event for the day consisted of a trip to the emergency room followed by shampooing 20+ years of mud, etc out of the Mustangs carpets while the seats are removed.

My wife and son and I went to my friend's place for the night. Great party, saw some friends I haven't seen in years, the kids all played nice.

Unfortunately it only takes one loser to sour the mood, and as I was trying to calm down a tense confrontation between two individuals the guy made the very poor decision of attacking me. I put him in an arm lever hold and repeatedly told him to not try to fight me and to calm down and that he was at great risk of uneeded injury. I let him go thinking he would heed the warning I'm legally obligated to give him as a martial arts student and the moron took a swing at me. I "corrected" him in about a nanosecond. He showed us who's boss when he left though by doing three brake stands in front of the house. At least this all happened after the other guests left.

Next morning I got up and made breakfast for all the kids and we watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High on DVD.

See that's the difference between Arizona and Canada. Around here, if you wanna get physical; why just "pay for the ticket and no refunds on the ride"! Considering how much you gave away in your "legally required warning"; my Ken Po don (you only got to screw up and call him "Sensai" once) would have admonished you to put your opponent out with the least required effort. You already told him, and he "bought the ticket" anyway.

At least you wouldn't have the burnouts in the street to look at.

When I say "I corrected him in about a nanosecond" I mean I laid him out before his telegraphed punch even started to move forward. And it was raining, so the road didn't get marked up anyway. I fully agree with you about having to warn though, it really gives it away, but it usually stops a situation from escalating.
