Its possible its not adjusted properly...

I have the steeda clutch adjustor kit and I highly recommend it if your having problems getting it adjusted right. The stock quadrant is plastic and supposedly adjusts itself but its a piece of crap...

my clutch is also hard. It use to have to press almost to the floor to get in gear. I adjusted it using a method I saw on a link. Its not the pull pedal type. Its a hell of a lot better, but the pedal effort is still tremendous. I don't remember ever pressing a stang clutch that was this hard. Even with an old Spec stage 3 I had on an old car was it this tough. Any ideas what else?

I am looking into the King Cobra clutch, what do you guys think of that? Is it also for the 4.6 or just 5.0?

when the shift fork pivot ball goes it can cause a very stiff pedal.

Been there! Are you sure it's not like a stage III and is out of adjustment?

I don't know what kind of clutch it has. I bought it used, and haven't look in there yet. It still has the stock quadrant and cable setup.

if you go aftermarket, get the steeda adjuster, cheaper ones without the clicking can work lose and cause problems, lol ask me how i know. also, dont buy any cable except ford. in my experience the others are just not strong for some reason

HD, Stage II and Stage III clutches depending on the maker will have harder clutch pedal effort causing more stress on the cable. As far as Only using Ford, I usually try to go with Ford but I've had a Steeda cable in two different stangs, and never has a problem.
