im planning on installing a harmonic balancer. its wobbling a tiny tiny bit. no rubber sticking out. im looking for a light weight HB. stock is 50z but what about a 28oz ? i have stock clutch and flywheel.

I think you may be confused. The weight reference isn't about the weight of the balancer itself but rather the imbalance weight associated with the rotating mass of the crank as cylinders fire. The 50 oz is the needed imbalance weight for the HO 302. Use a 28 oz if you wish but expect early engine failure. Also, balancers are not all created equal.

You could kind of think of it like a wheel and tire. The wheel and tire weigh X amount, and you can do what you wish to pare down the weight of the wheel and tire. But you need to balance the wheel and tire, and you can't lessen the weight needed to attain zero imbalance (assuming you dont dismount tires and remount them to get a better initial balance). You just have to live with whatever weights the tire guy needs to use.



Pioneer/Powerbond makes nice SFI and street balancers as well, IMHO.
